How to Place Pins and Review Each Composition Stage

A pin specifies where to edit in the original; the selected feature specifies what to take from the reference. Check both. Confirm framing first, connect references to pins, then compare intermediate and final results with the original.

Place pins on the original, not on the reference

After applying your original photo edit, click an area to create a pin. Place a hair pin on the head and a wardrobe pin on the body where the garment will appear. Choose the reference in the card connected to that pin.

A pin is a location cue, not a paintbrush or precise boundary. Select the reference and feature carefully too. Placing a pin does not guarantee that everything around it will remain unchanged.

Check that the card’s position, photo, and feature express the same intent

Review the reference image together with “Feature to apply from the photo.” A wardrobe reference paired with the hair feature will not clearly express your request. Change an automatically selected category if it differs from your intent.

For “Other,” enter a short, specific name for the target in this project. Name the feature clearly rather than entering several sentences of instructions in the name field.

  • Use the pin number to identify the correct reference card.
  • Check that the connected photo clearly shows the feature to apply.
  • Check that the selected hair, makeup, beard, wardrobe, or other feature matches your intent.

Review each pin alongside its stage’s reference

Different photos and features on separate pins let you review several changes in one project. Composition proceeds in stages based on selected features. Looking at references beside intermediate results helps identify where each change occurred.

Connect hair, makeup, wardrobe, and other elements separately. Remove unnecessary pins and resolve any pins without a reference before starting composition.

Applying new framing means placing your pins again

Portrait 2:3 and landscape 16:9 include different areas of the original. Applying a new crop resets existing pins because their positions no longer match. Reconnect pins and references on the newly framed photo.

Opening the photo editor is different from applying an edit. You can inspect the framing and cancel without changing it. Before applying, check again that the face, hair, and wardrobe areas you need are inside the frame.

  • Open “Edit photo” if needed.
  • Adjust the aspect ratio, photo position, and zoom.
  • Apply the new framing, then place the pins again.
  • Check the reference and selected feature for each pin again.

Use the comparison slider to distinguish requested and unwanted changes

Move the final result’s comparison slider left and right to compare it with the original. Check the pinned detail first, then facial features, expression, gaze, pose, and background.

Even if the requested color or shape appears, a changed impression of the original person needs separate consideration. Do not call the whole project successful based on just one criterion; review it for your intended use.

  • Check whether the reference feature was applied to the intended area.
  • Look for unrequested changes to the face or scene.
  • If needed, return to intermediate results to identify the stage where a change appeared.

Save intermediate results and the final image individually

Use download controls on the result screen to save the intermediate and final images you need. When reviewing several concepts, note the original and references used so you can explain which choices led to each result.

Reopen completed projects from the work list. Distinguish interrupted work from completed results, and use only stages with an actual generated image as result material. Have the responsible team review downloaded images again before makeup or filming.
